Jor van der Poel
(CA) I am Jor van der Poel, I’m originally from Groningen, The Netherlands but currently living in Vancouver BC I am a music producer, tutorial maker sound designer and teacher. I have had years of drum and piano lessons, both classical and Jazz and I am currently teaching a group of children and adults at home. Since two years I also make weekly sound design video tutorials for ADSR sounds. Until recently I was on the sound design team of Camel Audio and I have my own sound design company (Soundfreqs), besides that I just started my own teaching company SubjectSound.
At the moment I have 4 finished video courses that are approximately 3 hours in length for each course. 3 of them are U-he Zebra sound design courses and the other one is a basic but very popular music theory course. An Alchemy course will be released very soon through my Soundfreqs company and I have hundreds of short tutorial videos that you can find on Youtube.
I also have lots of preset packs for different synthesizer and worked for many years as a custom sound-designer where I make specific sounds for producers in a certain style. As previously touched upon I have lots of knowledge about synthesis and sound design in general which I use for my own music and for sound design.
I also have extensive knowledge about music theory and I am certified to train this. (Grade C in music Theory) I already have a lot of experience teaching, I'm familiar with a lot of stuff out there, and I know how to make a course from beginning to end, including recording and video editing. I know how to promote my products and have experience with webdesign and wordpress. I am also familiar with the different communities and the people that run them. Besides that I love to teach and explain how things works because It feels great to share and I always learn something myself by repeating what I once learned.
