Kevin Scott
Pro Tools 9

(USA-ATL) Born into a musical family in the heart of the Deep South, Kevin Scott takes the traditions of his upbringing and runs with it, forging a path and name for himself in today's world of modern music. Currently based in Atlanta, Kevin has become the first-call bassist for a variety of performers, spanning many genres, in a town filled with generations of phenomenal players. Along with leading his own ensembles, Kevin has also played/toured with the Filthy Six (U.K), toured Japan with legendary trumpeter Russell Gunn, toured Europe with Larkin Poe, local stalwarts the Atlanta Funk Society and Ruby Velle and the Soulphonics. On December 2015 he was the musical director for the tribute to James Brown, featuring members of these two bands along with Bernard Purdie, Nigel Hall, Charles Walker, Grant Green Jr., Marshall Ruffin and a cast of Atlanta all-stars. The show was a tremendous success, selling out Terminal West.

As well as being a fantastic live player, Kevin's also quite an in-demand studio musician, having written, produced, and recorded with a variety of talent including #1 hip-hop/RnB charts single "Sabatage" by Wale, the influential prog-metal album "Avalanche Of Worms" by Levy/Werstler and Mindi Abair's latest Grammy-nominated release featuring Gregg Allman, Russell Gunn's last breakthrough album "Elektrik Butterly's Elekrik Funeral" which featured Robert Glasper, Branford Marsalis, Fred Wesley, and Andre Hayward just to name a few. He also appeared in the film "Jane Mansfield's Car" written, starring and directed by Billy Bob Thornton and featuring Robert Duvall and Kevin Bacon!
